P244 MOSTEXT 244 22/02/94 20950:22       LONG-DISTANCE TELEPHONE CALLS To make a long-distance call within the former Soviet Union: ■ Pick up the receiver - you should hear a long dialing tone. ■ Dial 8 - after a few short clicks, you should hear another long tone; if you hear short pips, hang up and start all over again. ■ Dial the city code, then the local number. You may have to add 0s to the front of this number to make 7 digits. Long-distance city codes.....218-22
